After four years of being bridesmaids Stourport-on-Severn 1st XI were crowned Premier Division Champions for the first time on Saturday after beating Droitwich Spa 1st XI by 8 wickets at Walshes Farm Meadows.
After winning the toss and electing to field first the West Worcestershire outfit led by ‘Ted’ Baylis (4-35) took wickets regularly throughout the first innings to dismiss the opposition for a total that they passed for the loss of only two wickets.
